Today we had U of H teachers that did a great science lesson. Our students wore goggles while they experimented with dancing raisins. I’m so glad we have programs in our great city that help develop awesome teachers.

Does anyone see the homophones I used? Did I use them correctly? Well yesterday was an awesome day. First I had a great breakfast at a cool little cafe. It was so tiny inside and didn’t have many tables. Everyone wanted to sit inside because it was a little cold outside. I went to a session about blogging and got a few ideas about blogging. Next was the exhibitors floor. I will have to get a picture of it. It is massive! (Do you remember what that means?) While there, I ran into a couple of companies you may know. Check them out in the pictures below. Next Mrs. Lim and her daughter arrived today, so we stopped to take a picture. Finally my best session of all was this guy names George Curous (no not Curious George) but he challenged me to get you to be innovators. I want you to look that word up and think about what it means and be ready to share when I get back. Oh yeah, the best part of the day was seeing Deya work in the Little Bits booth. She was showing the product to teachers and they loved her. She skyped with a couple of classes and had a great time. Hopefully I can bring a couple of you next year to share about all the technology we have used in our class this year and you can teach teachers. I have entered into many drawings, I hope I win something to bring back to you guys. (I’m trying to get some little bits!!) Ok off to my next session. Hi class! I’m at my teacher technology conference in Austin, Tx. I have gotten so many cool ideas for us to do and it has only been 1 day! I miss you all. I am having fun with Mrs. Moulton too! We are lunch at a very yummy spot called Gus’ fried chicken. I wish I could bring you some back. I also can see the Texas Capitol building from our hotel room. Take care of Ms. Boone for me. I can’t wait to read about your field trip. Add it to your blog. Keep checking back to see more pics of what I’m learning.
My students have gone crazy over the new puzzles in class. They have been a great addition to our classroom. Check them out.
The Strikewriters had their pizza party to celebrate what AMAZING writers they are. Each 4th gr. student took their oath, ate delicious food (including a cookie cake), and then received individual feedback on their piece of writing from author, Crystal Allen . The big surprise was that she gave our school library a copy of her new book, the Magnificent Mya Tibbs (it just released last Tuesday).
